New setup: going back to 8.25

Deck: 8.25, medium concave. Trucks: mid, slightly loose. Wheels: 53mm, 99a. Bearings: whatever was cheapest and not rusty.

The narrower board flips faster, which I noticed on the very first kickflip. The trade-off is a little less confidence when landing in transition. I will give it a month before deciding.
